Until Death Do Us Part

Resin, transparent paper

2022

Until Death Do Us Part focuses on my interpretation of death and my attitude towards life in the present time. Living in a time of uncertainty, turmoil, and intensive geopolitics, the heavy word "death" seems to be an extraordinarily cautious term. Yet as we confront this uncontrollable fear, how should we reflect on our relationship with death?

Death should not be separated from the living, as Heidegger said, "If I take death into my life, acknowledge it, and face it squarely, I will free myself from the anxiety of death and the pettiness of life - and only then will I be free to become myself."

I see advance decisions as a reflection not only of what I can leave behind but also of how I view the life I have practiced in my twenties. When the cold words are printed on transparent paper, it has legal effect and at the same time becomes evidence of my living and my infinite passion for life.
