Vicissitude 2.jpg

Acrylic, resin, mechanism, water

Vicissitude, as part of my exploration on the theme of death, reveals a chaotic, yet subtly serene state of mind. The process of exploring death has led me to pay attention to the relationship between the power of confrontation and obedience. In Chapter: Use of Energy of The Art of War, Sun Tzu refers to the influence exerted by the external environment on an otherwise stable object. This influence is mapped beyond kinetic energy and changes the nature of the subject within it. In visualizing the relationship between water and wood, the influence exerted by water on wood is constantly shifting. Movement and stillness, pulling and pushing, borrowing and confronting are carried out at all times, fading and repeating.
